Maybe right now communication with your partner feels difficult…
You bring it up. He shuts down, or he defends himself, or he says “can we not do this now.” You feel him going away, so you push a bit harder, because you can feel him leaving the room even though he’s still sitting there.
Then you’re the one who’s crying, or furious, or saying “forget it, it doesn’t matter” and you want to give up.
And then you don’t mention it again for another three months.
Some days it’s clearly him. He’s shut down, he won’t meet you halfway.
Other days you’re awake at 2am deciding it’s you. Asking for too much, not attractive enough…
It’s neither.
You’re stuck in a negative communication pattern. One person reaches, the other pulls back, and the more you reach the further he goes.
You’re not nagging, you’re reaching.
He isn’t cold either. He pulls back because he’s decided he’s already failed you.
So it isn’t him and it isn’t you, it’s the thing the two of you do together. And that can change, without him going first.
I’ve felt isolated and unable to cope and overwhelmed by my son’s energy. It’s through Tarisha’s course that I’ve been able to reconnect far more deeply with my husband and ask for his support. This time he’s heard.
Yes – real change IS possible! I’m so grateful to be on this discovery journey with Tarisha. I feel I’m given a big toolbox with life skills which I will use the rest of my life.
The change in my marriage is most pleasurable...
This is more important than going abroad or renovating the house or buying new clothes.
I felt so drained in my relationship, everything seemed like a struggle and I just couldn’t find time for myself.
After working with Tarisha the relationship with my husband has changed dramatically, I want to spend time with with him, I feel I can be myself around him and I enjoy our time together. Life is just way more pleasurable now.
No. Plenty of women do this without saying anything, and let him find out through how the conversation goes instead.
Register anyway and you’ll get the recording. But you’ll get the most out of the workshop if you join us live, because the breakout rooms is where you’ll practise, and you can’t do those on a replay. You’ll also be able to ask me any questions about communication and your particular circumstances.
Camera off is completely welcome, and you only share what you feel comfortable with.
If you feel a bit shy in a group, know that this is a very safe space and the gentle support of other women will relax and empower you.
You can email me at tarisha@sexualempowermentforwomen.com
The workshop is happening on 15th of September 6 – 9 pm NZT or 4 -7 pm Sydney.
I know the power of this work and fully stand for it. If you’re not fully satisfied after the workshop, I will gladly refund you. You do need to attend the workshop to get the refund.
You’ll share as much as you choose to. You can always pass. And the rule in every breakout is that the other woman witnesses, she doesn’t fix, advise, or comment.
Yes, though it’s built for partnered women. If you’re on your own, you’ll leave with the skill and the language, which is worth having before the next one.
I'm trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFCT), which means I can help you name the negative communication cycle you're caught in. More importantly, I help you change it, so you feel like a team again, safe, secure and loved.
My passion is to work with women because we have so much power in changing negative relational dynamics. With a couple of postgraduate degrees in counselling and psychotherapy, I've had the privilege of guiding hundreds of incredible women on their journey towards rediscovering their desires, learning how to become an invitation for love and affection, and feeling whole.
The result for them? A heart-melting and fulfilling love life.
